South Warren Media Show
Another thing the STLP group does is the South Warren Media Show, which is what Reagan and I presented as a showcase. The Media Show is a combination of pieces that inform the school and community about what's going on at South Warren. Some examples of pieces are Sports, Spartan Spotlight (where we choose one teacher and tell about them), Fun Fact of the Week, educational raps, and more. Our first purpose is to inform but we also want to entertain to keep students interested.
Process of making a news show:
Monday: On the first day we plan out exactly what we're going to put on the news show, what needs to get done, and how it's going to get done. We split up into groups to work on individual pieces.
Tuesday: Tuesdays are usually the filming day. Whatever needs to be filmed, whether it be interviews, skits, announcements is filmed on Tuesday.
Wednesday: Wednesday is when the individual groups edit their pieces. They import the clips they filmed the day before and put them in order, adding music, text, effects, and anything else needed to put the finishing touches on the piece.
Thursday: On Thursday all the pieces are put on one computer, where one or two people put the show together. They also create an intro and outro to add in before and after the pieces. Once it's completely done, it's uploaded to our iHigh page.
Friday: On Friday the news show is shown to the entire school.

If you are interested in being in STLP or on the News Team:
Contact Mr. Priddy. We're looking for creative, hardworking people who are outgoing, easy to work with, and obviously, good at technology. It's a very fun class and group, but it does take hard work. You have to stay focused and get your work done, but having fun will be included in that.
